Scope of work

Compliance work

The code is not a vibe. We check the checklist the inspector uses.

SURVEYS

Full hood-system audit

Hood height, overhang, CFM, duct access, fan listing, MUA interlock, suppression coverage — documented with photos.

VIOLATION FIXES

Failed-inspection recovery

Red-tagged? We triage the citation list, fix what fails, and get the re-inspection scheduled.

PRE-LEASE WALKS

Before you sign

Free code walk of any space you’re considering. The duct path that doesn’t exist is cheaper to find before the lease does.

CHANGE-OF-USE

New concept, old hood

Turning a sandwich shop into a wing joint changes the hood class. We tell you what the new cookline legally requires.

Questions we get

Straight answers

The city red-tagged my hood. What now?
Send us the citation. We survey same-week, quote the corrections in citation order, and coordinate the re-inspection — restaurants can’t afford open-ended downtime and we schedule like we know it.
Is the pre-lease code walk really free?
Yes. It costs us an hour and it earns us the install when you pick the right space. It has also talked clients out of very expensive wrong spaces.
Which codes apply to my kitchen hood?
Broadly IMC/UMC mechanical code plus NFPA 96 for grease systems, as adopted and amended by your city — Houston, Waco-area and DFW jurisdictions each have their own flavor. Knowing the local amendments is most of the job.
