HOME / COMMERCIAL KITCHEN VENTILATION
Vent Hood Installation · Type I & Type II

VENT HOODS SIZED TO THE COOKLINE YOU ACTUALLY RUN.

A hood is a calculation before it’s a piece of steel: cookline duty, capture area, CFM, duct velocity. We do the math, hang the hood, weld the duct, and meet the inspector.

Scope of work

What the install covers

From the drawings to the signed inspection card.

SIZING

Capture & CFM math

Hood dimensions and exhaust rates calculated from your actual equipment lineup — over-sizing wastes tempered air, under-sizing fails inspection.

SETTING

Hood hung & leveled

Canopy set to code height above the cooking surface, seismic and structural attachment done right the first time.

GREASE DUCT

Welded & accessible

Liquid-tight welded duct, properly sloped, cleanouts placed for the fire-code cleaner — not for the installer’s convenience.

INTEGRATION

MUA, fans & suppression

The hood arrives as a system: makeup air interlocked, exhaust fan matched, Ansul coordination with licensed suppression contractors.

Questions we get

Straight answers

What’s the difference between Type I and Type II hoods?
Type I handles grease and smoke (fryers, grills, ranges) and needs welded grease duct and suppression. Type II handles heat and steam only (ovens, dishwashers). We install and permit both.
Can you replace a hood without redoing the duct?
Sometimes — if the existing duct is code-compliant and sized for the new hood’s CFM. We verify before quoting, because “reuse the duct” is where failed inspections come from.
Do you install hoods outside Houston?
Yes — all three service areas: Houston, Waco/Lorena, and DFW/Weatherford.
